Registration is now open for the Asia-Pacific Writing Partnership’s next event, being held in Perth in early December this year.
‘Writing Out Of Asia’ Roundtables and Workshops On Writing, Teaching Creative Writing, Translation, and Editing in the Asia-Pacific Region, (2-5 December, 2011) is being hosted by the Westerly Centre at the University of Western Australia in conjunction with the 14th Biennial Symposium On Literatures And Cultures Of The Asia Pacific Region, ‘Asia-Pacific Literature And Culture In The Era Of The Digital Revolution’.

Roundtable ‘Provocateurs’ include Xu Xi, Alvin Pang, Harry Aveling, Kate Griffin, Wendy Wright, Isagani Cruz, Shelley Kenigsberg among others. Their bios are available on our information page.
The workshops are informal, interactive Literary Conversations with some practical exercises. Participants need no qualifications to join these half-day sessions, only an interest in the area. Places are limited, so if you are interested, please register early.
We offer four workshops: Narrative Prose (Fiction & Creative Non-Fiction) facilitated by Xu Xi; Translation (open to anyone with an interest in language, literature, culture and social interactions) facilitated by Harry Aveling; Editing with Shelley Kenigsberg, and Poetry with a facilitator yet to be confirmed.
