PhD/DCA Scholarships at the University of Western Sydney

Apply now for PhD/DCA Scholarships in the Writing and Society Research Group and the School of Communication Arts at the University of Western Sydney: we are especially interested in projects in the following areas:

* Text and image in new media art

* Electronic literature and poetry

* Artist books and writing beyond the book

* Subjectivities in new media cultures

* New media art and writing and affect theory

* Contagious processes in new media art and writing

* Collectivities and emergent processes in new media work

Students in these areas will be part of the vibrant intellectual and creative culture of the Writing and Society Research Group, and will also have the opportunity to contribute to the ARC funded project, Creative Nation: Writers and Writing in the New Media Arts which is constructing an annotated Directory of Australian New Media Art and Writing, and to join a community of international researchers throughout the US and Europe actively engaged in establishing international collaborative projects.

Scholarships provide a tax-free stipend of $32,222 per annum and a funded place in the doctoral degree. Funding is also available each year for project costs and conference travel.
