Call for Contributions

A History of the AAWP

Deadline 1 June 2009, earlier if possible.

At the thirteenth annual conference of the AAWP in 2008, I proposed that a history should mark the fifteenth anniversary of the organisation, and this proposal was endorsed by the Committee of Management at that conference. I have since published a conference paper in the 2009 Conference proceedings, presenting the first steps towards producing that history, framed by the recent calls for a ‘turn to history’ in the study of organisations and my research into organisational history writing.

I would like to now call on all interested AAWP members, past and present, to contribute to this history by submitting a brief written statement (a page or two, or less if you prefer) describing all, or any, of the following, or anything else you feel moved to write about in relation to the AAWP:

Why you joined the AAWP?
Why you stay a member?
How do you think the AAWP has changed since you first became aware of it?
What the AAWP has meant to you, or given you, professionally, academically, creatively and/or personally?
How does the AAWP compare to other organisations you have experience of?
Your opinion of what the AAWP does really well? And, or, What it could do better?
What do you think the AAWP should concentrate on in the future?
Anything else relevant

THANK YOU! Your input is appreciated and needed.
