AAWP Annual General Meeting

Please be advised the AAWP AGM is scheduled to be held during the 16th Annual Conference in November. Before then, members are invited to submit the following.

  1. Agenda items: Please send any agenda items to info@aawp.org.au
  2. Committee of Management Nominations:

To ensure genuine transparency and accountability, from this year on:

  • nominations for the Committee of Management will be made ahead of the AGM;
  • no nominations will be made from the floor; and
  • voting will be by secret ballot.

If you are interested in serving the AGM as a member of the committee of management, please do start thinking about what role you would like to play. To nominate yourself or someone else, send details to us at info@aawp.org.au:

Please provide the following information:

  • Name of person making the nomination
  • Name of person being nominated for the committee of management
  • Evidence of agreement of that person to be nominated for the committee of management (an email note is fine)
  • Confirmation that both nominator and the person nominated are paid-up members of the AAWP
  • A 200-word statement by the person nominated about what they would bring to the management of the AAWP, and a 100-word bio note (these will be circulated to all members, so they know who they’re voting for)

This needs to be submitted by 21 October to allow time to collate and distribute the material to all members prior to the AGM.

All members of the committee are expected to hold a portfolio through which they contribute to the management of the AAWP. Currently, the portfolios are:

  • Chair

  • NAWE liaison cum UK representative

(In many cases, individuals hold 2 or more portfolios, depending on how demanding the portfolio might be.)
